Green Gill Oyster
Green Gill Oyster is a specialty seafood from the coast of Atlantic ocean in eastern America. The green gill oysters are famous for the freshly tastes and sharply mouth feelings, and are recognized as the top tier among the “King of the SeaFood”. The shining blue-green color of the oysters arise from a marine diatom which accumulates a blue pigment, Marennine, during the winter when the diatom bloom is formed in the ocean. When the oysters feed on the diatom, the Marennine is accumulated in the gills of the oysters, making the bright blue color. The scientific research have demonstrated the unique nutritional and antioxidant property of the Marennine.
